The proposed (but not confirmed) programme for the next two years is:

The event takes senior high school students through the process of classifying a film. The Chief Censor gives a brief introduction to the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993, then the students watch a pre-release film. Following a brief morning tea, students work through a modified consideration sheet, which mimics the process used by the Office to classify publications. The day finishes with a discussion and questions.
In Term 1 of 2009 Censor for a Day was held in Wellington and Auckland, where the students were shown the film Defiance.
